Frequently Asked Questions

What is DPC?

Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a model of healthcare that directly connects the patient and the physician, without administrative bureaucracy. We don’t accept insurance, so are free from the rushed and limited visits that are imposed by insurance companies. Instead, for a monthly fee, we can offer you access to same/next-day visits or telemedicine appointments without co-pays. With direct access to Dr. Qureshi, patients can contact her via phone, secure text, email, or video as needed. The DPC model also offers access to discounts on medications, labs, pathology, and imaging – whether or not you have insurance. We are able to truly deliver personalized and affordable care for you.

No, DPC is not concierge.  Concierge practices often charge a large annual fee AND bill insurance.  DPC practices do NOT bill insurance and charge much less than concierge – your monthly fee covers all of your care!

To put it shortly, insurance doesn’t allow the type of care I want to give my patients. I want to give you the ability to see me when you need, instead of waiting months for an appointment or having to go waste money at urgent care. I want you to not have to see other providers who you may not know or be comfortable with. Insurance doesn’t care if we heal you; it only cares how many of you we see in a day, and if we documented details they wanted to collect correctly.

I do not process insurance for office visits nor do I provide superbills. However, I will work with insurance to cover medications, labs, imaging, and specialist consults. I do not directly bill or deal with insurance. By cutting the middleman out, I am much more equipped to serve YOU, instead of serving insurance companies.

Yes, you should at least have catastrophic coverage for hospitalizations, specialists, unforeseen illnesses and medications which may not be available through direct care membership.

If DPC isn’t right for you, no worries. Just send me an email and I’ll take care of the rest.

There is a $300 re-enrollment fee. Patients who have cancelled more than once will not be eligible for re-enrollment.

Patients on controlled substances are welcome at Peach Blossom DPC, however I will not be managing long term controlled substances. Please plan accordingly and maintain a relationship with the appropriate specialist for these prescriptions.

If you have MEDICARE – Yes. At this time, I will be enrolling limited Medicare patients and WILL bill Medicare. However, I will STOP taking Medicare in the future. I will give advance notice when I plan to “opt out” of Medicare. You will then be given the opportunity to join in the monthly membership.

If you have MEDICAID – no, at this time we cannot see Medicaid patients.  We are working on changing that, so please check back soon.

Yes, the US House Ways and Means Committee passed HR5688. This bill confirms that we can continue to accept HSA payments for membership fees.

Yes, I am available for comprehensive Weight Management. Additionally, I can do Sports Physicals, Sports Physicals, DOT Physicals and Sick/Problem Visits. I will not act as your primary care physician and you will pay a one-time fee per visit. See Pricing/Services for more details.

Our electronic medical record offers you 24/7 access to your medical chart through a patient portal. Your records are your property so you should be able to access them at your convenience and download them for free.

No, unless you specifically request it. I take your privacy seriously, and am not obligated to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that I do and sign a release of records. In DPC, we contract directly with you!
